Lunch Program

LUNCH:

Sts. Joseph and John School offers a hot lunch program throughout the year. The monthly Viking Cafe' menu is located on our website. The Cafe' offers three entree choices: main entree, alternate entree and a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. The side dishes listed for that day will accompany each lunch entree. It is important for students to sign up for the appropriate entree so the cafeteria staff can obtain accurate counts to serve them better. Milk is included with the hot lunch. Snacks are available during lunch times at the Viking Snack Bar for an additional cost of $.50 to $1.00. Nachos or soft pretzels are usually available on Fridays for an additional $1.00.

FORGOTTEN LUNCH POLICY:

If a child has forgotten to bring his or her packed lunch, their school lunch account will be charged for a hot lunch. No child will go with a lunch.

NO MORE LUNCH TICKETS:

Food Service Solutions is an automated program that allows parents to monitor lunch accounts for their children. Each child is given an I.D. Card with a bar code that is scanned with they buy hot lunch. Parents manage account balances and are notified by email when the balance gets down to $10. Accounts are managed through the Sts. Joseph and John School Business Office (440) 238-4959. Prices are $2.75 for hot lunch and $.50 for milk. Some families may qualify for free or reduced price lunches.

LUNCHTIME:

Kindergarten students have 20 minutes to eat their lunch and then a 20-minute recess. Students in grades 1-8 have 15 minutes to eat followed by a 15-minute recess.
